***** Math Problem Generator *****
==> This program is freely dedicated to the public domain <==
==> April 1989 <==
This is a simple program which generates addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division problems. With the various
options, it should be useful for grades 1 - 4.
I wrote it because my first-grader hates being quizzed on math
facts. Instead, I print one or two sheets of problems and give
her a time limit to complete them. If she finishes the sheets
on time, I don't quiz her. If not, well, it just shows that
she needs the work.
To execute the program, simply type in MATHPROB from the DOS
prompt. A screen will appear from which you can select the
type of problems you want. The various options are:
1) Choose addition, subtraction, multiplication or division
2) Print from 1 to 9 pages of problems
3) Choose the number of digits in each part of the problem
4) Allow or not allow carries for addition problems
5) Allow or not allow borrowing for subtraction problems
6) Allow or not allow remainders for division problems
7) Select expanded characters if your printer is Epson
compatible
After the options are selected, press F10 to print. One note:
Irregardless of the number of digits chosen, the larger number
will be on top.
The answers to the problems will print on the page following
the problems. For division problems, two answers are given:
one to two decimal places and one as a whole number with a
remainder.
Although I make no guarantees about the program, if there are
any problems or comments, feel free to contact me.
